Every store was confirmed on Shopify in October 2026. Theme names come from Shopify's Theme Store listings, public theme detectors, Shopify case studies, Shopify Build Awards, Awwwards and agency case studies. Stores redesign and switch themes, so each theme is a snapshot. The order is Webinopoly's editorial pick. Listing doesn't imply a relationship with Webinopoly.
Editor's guide
How to pick a theme that doesn't look like a template
Start from your brand, not the theme demo. Pick the theme whose layout model fits how you sell: Broadcast and Stiletto for image-led storytelling, Impact and Palo Alto for big statements, Baseline for type-first brands, Shapes for playful ones, Motion when video carries the product.
Then change what every other store on that theme keeps: the type pairing, the color system, the photography and the header. The stores on this list share themes with thousands of others and still look like nobody else, because of those four things.
Keep an eye on speed. Heavy video and stacked apps can fail Core Web Vitals on mobile, and a cool store that loads slowly loses the sale. Our web design and Shopify team build for both.
Theme Store theme, custom theme or Hydrogen?
Theme Store theme. Fastest and cheapest. Right for most brands, especially with custom sections and a real art direction pass on top.
Custom Liquid theme. Built for your catalog and story, still inside Shopify's theme system, so apps and the editor keep working. P448, Glossier, Polène and Graza are good examples.
Headless or Hydrogen. A fully custom front end with Shopify running checkout. Best for 3D, heavy motion and content-led experiences like Lady Gaga's store or Denim Tears. It costs the most to build and run. See our headless commerce work.

How the list was built
Theme Store stores come from the "stores using this theme" listings on Shopify's official theme pages, with a few confirmed through public theme detectors. Custom and headless builds come from Shopify case studies, Shopify Build Awards, Awwwards entries and agency case studies. Everything was checked in October 2026. Stores change themes, so treat each theme as a snapshot.
Questions
- What is the coolest Shopify theme in 2026?
- For loud, high-energy brands, Impact (Maestrooo) and Palo Alto (Invisible Themes). For editorial storytelling, Broadcast and Stiletto. For something that looks nothing like a template, Baseline's brutalist grid and Shapes' masked images. The coolest stores on this list, though, often run custom themes or headless Hydrogen builds.
- How did you find out which theme each store uses?
- Theme Store stores come from the "stores using this theme" listings on Shopify's official theme pages, with a few confirmed through public theme detectors. Custom and headless builds come from Shopify case studies, Shopify Build Awards, Awwwards entries and agency case studies. Everything was checked in October 2026. Stores change themes, so treat each theme as a snapshot.
- Is a free Shopify theme good enough to look this good?
- Often, yes. Ghia runs Dawn, Shopify's free theme. Art direction, photography, type and color do most of the work. A paid theme mainly adds layouts and effects, like Shapes' image masks or Motion's video sections, that would otherwise need custom code.
- When should a brand move from a theme to a custom Shopify theme?
- When the theme starts limiting how you merchandise or tell your story: custom product finders, bundles in the cart, configurators, lookbooks tied to content, or performance problems from stacked apps. Stores like P448, Glossier and Polène show what a custom Liquid theme can do without going headless.
- What is Shopify Hydrogen?
- Hydrogen is Shopify's React framework for headless storefronts. The front end is fully custom while Shopify still runs checkout, products and orders. Lady Gaga's store, Denim Tears and Nour Hammour are built on it. It's the most flexible option, and the most expensive to build and maintain.
- Can Webinopoly design a store like these?
- Yes. Webinopoly is a Houston-based Shopify and Shopify Plus agency in business since 2012. We customize Theme Store themes, build custom Liquid themes and develop headless Hydrogen storefronts.
